EHang Forges Strategic Partnership with Changchun Jingyue High-Tech Zone to Deploy 41 EH216-S Units for eVTOL Applications in Extreme Cold Regions

EHang Partners with Jingyue Hi-tech Zone to Develop eVTOL Hub

EHang Holdings Limited is collaborating with the Management Committee of Jingyue Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Changchun, China, to create a pioneering low-altitude economic development zone. This initiative will integrate industrial development, technological innovation, and real-world application scenarios for urban air mobility.

Strategic Partnership

The collaboration involves a strategic agreement. This agreement will have the platform company, Jilin Aerospace Industry Development Investment Co., Ltd., ordering 41 EH216-S pilotless eVTOLs from EHang. These vehicles will facilitate sightseeing, urban emergency response, and city traffic management within Changchun. The goal is to establish Changchun as a leading city in low-altitude economic development and promote growth throughout Jilin Province.

“Through our in-depth collaboration with EHang and by leveraging its industry-leading technologies, Jingyue Hi-Tech Zone aims to establish a benchmark for low-altitude economic development and drive high-quality regional growth.”

Hongliang Zhou, Secretary of Jingyue Hi-tech Zone

The city of Changchun aims to grow its low-altitude economy to RMB3 billion by 2026. Worldwide, the urban air mobility market is predicted to reach $1.5 trillion by 2040, according to a report by Morgan Stanley (Morgan Stanley).

Advancing Innovation

The Jingyue Hi-tech Zone, recognized as a National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, will serve as the core for developing Changchun’s low-altitude economy. The area possesses significant tourism resources, which makes it ideal for “low-altitude + tourism” applications.

The project will include establishing a low-altitude command and dispatch platform. This platform will support safe and efficient management for urban air mobility operations. Further, EHang will contribute to a Low-altitude Intelligent Connected Cold-region Testing Site.

By leveraging Jingyue’s unique advantages, including its natural environment, policy incentives, and digital infrastructure, the partnership will enable ongoing testing to optimize the aircraft’s performance. The goal is to promote the widespread adoption of eVTOL technology. This will ultimately bring safe, efficient, intelligent, and environmentally friendly low-altitude economic solutions to more areas.
