A 42-year-old Singaporean cyclist tragically lost his life in Malaysia after colliding with a pothole, which led to him being run over by a gravel-filled lorry. This devastating incident occurred on Saturday, prompting investigations and renewed discussions on road safety.
Fatal Accident Details
The accident took place along Jalan Gunung Pulai in Kulai, according to statements. Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee, the Kulai OCPD, reported that the deceased was part of a group of four cyclists at the time of the crash. The cyclist suffered severe head injuries.
ACP Tan stated that the lorry’s 41-year-old driver remained unharmed after the incident. The body of the deceased cyclist was taken to Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim for a post-mortem examination. The case is currently under investigation, falling under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
