Hernandez sustained the injury during Monday’s series-opening victory against the Miami Marlins. initially reported as left hamstring tightness, further evaluation via MRI revealed the groin strain. The incident occurred after hernandez chased down a ball hit by Javier Sanoja in the third inning. He was subsequently replaced by Chris Taylor in the fourth.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts addressed the situation before tuesday’s game against the Marlins, emphasizing the significance of Hernandez’s absence. He doesn’t come out of baseball games, so we put him on the IL,

Outman’s Possibility
Outman had a promising rookie season in 2023,hitting 23 home runs and driving in 70 runs,finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting. However, he struggled in 53 games last season, batting just .147,and began this season in the minor leagues after a tough spring training.

Hernandez joins Tommy Edman on the IL, who was sidelined earlier in the season with right ankle inflammation after hitting eight home runs and 24 RBIs through 30 games. The Dodgers also recalled right-handed reliever J.P. Feyereisen from Oklahoma city and designated right-handed reliever Yoendrys Gomez for assignment Tuesday.
