pakistan Army Chief’s Actions Scrutinized Amidst Political Turmoil
Dr. salman Ahmad, a member of the Junoon band and a close aide to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has voiced concerns regarding the actions of Pakistan’s Army chief, general asim Munir. According to Ahmad, Munir’s recent activities are driven by a desire to consolidate power before November 2025, perhaps to shield himself from the repercussions of a U.S. bill.

and that his speech before the diaspora was unwarranted
, accusing him of employing divisive tactics reminiscent of British colonial strategies.
General Munir’s Address and the Two-Nation Theory
During an address at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad, General Munir articulated a view rooted in the two-nation theory, stating:
our forefathers thought we are different from hindus in every aspect…Our religion is different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our thoughts are different, our ambitions are different, that’s where the foundation of the two-nation theory was laid. We are two nations, we are not one nation.General Asim Munir, Overseas Pakistanis Convention, Islamabad
He also referred to Kashmir as Pakistan’s jugular vein
, expressing unwavering solidarity with the region’s struggle
.Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of instilling a narrative of religious and cultural superiority in pakistani children.
Crackdown on Terrorism and Balochistan’s Destiny
General Munir has pledged to aggressively combat terrorists in Balochistan, asserting that it is the destiny of Pakistan
and that even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan
.
Imran khan’s Future and Potential Threats
Ahmad suggests that Imran khan and his supporters may face increased persecution. This campaign will also target Khan’s supporters…In the coming days, incidents of violence, murder, physical torture and kidnapping will increase…These attacks will happen to silence those who bravely raise thier voices against the injustices of Munir.
He also noted that Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her family have expressed support for imran Khan.
Views on Civilian-Military Relations
Ahmad highlighted Khan’s desire for the military to remain in the barracks, similar to India. He stated, But in 78 years, Pakistan has been taken over by a military cartel, from Yahya Khan to Pervez Musharraf to Munir. They controlled everything — economy, foreign policy and media and even control. But the Army doesn’t understand civil matters.
Intelligence Sources on Munir’s Motives
Intelligence sources suggest that Munir’s actions are driven by desperation following a misadventure involving India. Munir wants internal crises to handle backlash after Pahalgam. He also wants to control Khan. He is worried about his future as America is adamant to clear the bill on Pakistan democracy. He wants to capture pakistan before that.
