An Ecuadorian presidential candidate was shot dead at a campaign rally in the country’s capital, Quito. On Thursday, August 10, reports El Universo.
Fernando Villavicencio spoke at a rally in one of the city’s colleges. When the politician finished his speech, he was shot dead by a group of assassins.
According to eyewitnesses, they heard shots fired, after which the seriously wounded presidential candidate died.
In total, about eight people were injured in the shooting, sources said.
Elections in Ecuador will be held on August 20.
