Papua60seconds – Information is circulating that says 5 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) in the South Papua Region are infected with HIV-AIDS.
Responding to this information, the Acting Governor of South Papua Province Apolo Safanpo said he would still coordinate with the Health Service to confirm this information.
“We will first investigate it through the Health Service. There could be a lot of factors, we don’t know what media it was transmitted,” he said, Monday (24/7/2023).
KPA Merauke noted, from 1992 to May 2023 it was found that 2,745 people were infected with HIV-AIDS. In total, 755 people have died.
Meanwhile, from January to May 2023 there have been 41 new cases. A total of 39 of them were HIV or had no symptoms and 2 cases of AIDS or with symptoms. In those five months, KPA Merauke recorded 7 HIV-AIDS patients who died. (Ami)
