The swell, a result of Erin’s energy, is expected to return to Cabo Verde approximately two weeks after its initial impact. Observers have noted the swell’s potential size, with some comparing it to the conditions often seen at nazaré, Portugal, known for its massive waves.
One commenter highlighted the swell’s journey: ”It started as a little cloud that then blasted São Vicente, Cabo Verde in the early hours of August 11th. She developed into Erin and her swell will now make it’s way back to Cabo Verde almost two weeks later. Crazy and engaging.”
Forecasters emphasize that numerous factors influence swell behavior. Though, current projections suggest that many winter surf spots, stretching from Iceland southward to West Africa, could experience thier most significant swell of the entire month of August.
