March 24, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

The Russian government on Tuesday awarded its 2025 Presidential prizes to a group of young cultural professionals and organizations recognizing contributions to the arts and patriotic education. The awards, announced by the Kremlin, highlight a focus on both preserving traditional Russian culture and fostering creativity among emerging artists.

Among the recipients is Murat Abulkatinov, recognized for his operate as chief director of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theatre. The prize acknowledges his contribution to the development of national theatrical art, a role he assumed in 2024, according to Kremlin statements. Abulkatinov, born in 1992 in the Saratov Region, has staged over 20 productions across Russia and is a scholarship holder of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia.

Vladislav Miller, a drama actor at the Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theatre, was also honored for his contribution to preserving and developing the traditions of Russian theatre and cinema. The Tabakov Theatre was recently featured in the VII festival of the Young Spectator Theater “Language of the World” in Krasnoyarsk, showcasing its performance of “Sailor Silence” on August 29 and 30, 2025. The play, previously censored for over two decades, returned to the stage in 2019 with Vladimir Mashkov in a leading role.

The awards also recognized vocal soloists Igor Morozov, Alina Chertash and Polina Shabunina, all for their performances in Sergei Prokofiev’s opera Semyon Kotko, staged at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Beyond individual artists, the Presidential prizes extended to organizations impacting cultural education. Anatoly Kislyakov, artistic director of the Popov’s Grand Children’s Choir, received an award for his contribution to the development of national choral traditions. Radio channel Children’s Radio (LLC GPM Radio) was recognized for creating a cultural and educational ecosystem for children. The Museum of the History of Military Uniforms was similarly honored for its contribution to shaping historical memory and patriotic upbringing among young people.

The Krasnoyarsk Youth Theatre is scheduled to host a Premier parade of performances released during the 2024-2025 season as part of the ongoing festival, continuing its commitment to fostering a creative environment for young audiences.
