This declaration comes from Nexon’s AI Manager, Choi Ha-hyuk, and is backed by the company’s substantial investment in its dedicated artificial intelligence research center, Intelligence Labs.

This impacts not only Nexon’s portfolio of popular titles-including MapleStory, Sudden Attack, Mabinogi, and Kingdom of the Winds-but also sets a precedent for the wider gaming industry facing increasing demands for engaging content and efficient development pipelines. Established in April 2017, Nexon Intelligence Labs employs approximately 800 personnel focused on maximizing game enjoyment thru machine learning and deep learning technologies. Current research priorities include data learning utilizing large-scale language models (LLM), automated scenario creation and conversational AI, multilingual simultaneous translation, and the rapid prototyping of production tools via Model Context Protocol (MCP) research.
the tangible outcome of this work is ’GameScale,’ a thorough platform managing all phases of game development, release, and live operations. GameScale is currently deployed across numerous Nexon flagship titles, streamlining workflows and enabling faster iteration.
