At the Courrèges Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear show, Drew Henry’s set featuring row upon row of vintage chairs prompted interior design discussions among celebrity attendees including Ziwe, Soo Joo Park, Ellis Howard, and Julia Davis.
Interior Inspiration From the Runway Front Row
Those seeking home decor ideas could find plenty of inspiration in the seating arrangement created by Drew Henry for his first Courrèges presentation, which incorporated a massive collection of antique chairs spanning multiple eras and designs.
“It’s like a really chic, high-end Hackney flea market, it’s gorgeous,” said Ellis Howard, who recently finished filming “The Rachel Incident” and was attending the show with “What It Feels Like for a Girl” costar Hannah Jones.
The heterogenous set tied directly into ongoing design dilemmas for the British actor, who was nominated for a BAFTA earlier this year. “I was very midcentury in my flat, but I’ve just moved in with my boyfriend, who is totally John Pawson minimalist obsessed, so we’re having that battle right now,” he confided.
Celebrity Home Renovations and Design Clashes
For other attendees, the runway’s curated mix of furniture directly mirrored active personal design projects. Ziwe, a self-confessed lover of color, had her eye on a plush green design from the space. “It’s very festive, with lots of burnt orange and velvet,” said the comedian and commentator of her own home’s design.
Model and musician Soo Joo Park found practical applications for her current domestic overhaul. “I’m in the middle of renovating, so I’ve been noticing all the different kinds of chairs,” she said. Describing her aesthetic, Park noted, “I have a place that’s midcentury, it’s kind of Palm Springs vibes, but I’m also really inspired by midcentury Italian furniture and architecture, so I was taking references from Villa Necchi, from Portaluppi and kind of mixing it with Japanese aesthetic modernism, L.A., Lautner vibes. It’s very like me, I’m very multi-culti, so that’s like my house as well.”
Davis, a British writer and actress recognized for “Gavin & Stacey,” attended her initial fashion week event while occupying a brushed metal seat. “This one I’m sitting on looks very Germanic and quite harsh, I don’t know if that reflects my character,” she said, expressing initial feelings of being overwhelmed. Yet the overarching design of the room resonated with her personal taste. “My design style in my home is quite eclectic: I’ve got purple stuff, antique bits, vintage stuff, lots of greens and reds, dark reds and things,” noted Davis, whose current projects include a debut novel and a brand-new series.
