Newcastle, Oklahoma – Ziggi’s Coffee is offering a free small chai to customers ordering ahead online or through its mobile app, responding to recent changes in Starbucks’ chai recipe that have disappointed some consumers. The promotion, launched today, utilizes the code ZIGGISCHAI or TRYOURCHAI at checkout.

The Colorado-based coffee chain is leveraging the situation to showcase its alternative chai offerings, crafted with a concentrate from CharlieJoe Chai, another Colorado company. CharlieJoe Chai utilizes direct-trade Assam black tea and a blend of spices including cinnamon, ginger, and clove, according to Ziggi’s.

Customers can customize their chai, choosing between Original Chai, Vanilla Bee Chai, and Spicy Chai, served hot or iced. The option to add espresso, creating a “dirty chai,” is also available. Ziggi’s operates a drive-thru location at 2184 N. Main St. In Newcastle.

Beyond the flavor profile, CharlieJoe Chai incorporates a social mission, donating a portion of its chai purchases to organizations dedicated to preventing and rescuing children from human trafficking in South Asia.
