Zdeno Chara’s Endurance Tests: Ironman Triathlon Success

Zdeno Chara, teh former NHL defenseman, recently showcased his exceptional physical conditioning by completing the Oravaman Triathlon in his native Slovakia.

the 48-year-old athlete, known for his rigorous training regimen, tackled a challenging course that included a 2 km swim, an 86 km bike ride, and a 19.5 km run with approximately 3100 meters of elevation gain. this feat adds to Chara’s history of participating in demanding endurance events, such as the Boston and London marathons.

Chara’s continued commitment to physical excellence comes as he prepares for his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2025. He is part of the 2025 induction class, which also features former Boston Bruins teammate Joe Thornton.
