Zara Larsson to Perform at amfAR Cannes Gala 2026 | Variety
Swedish singer Zara Larsson will perform at amfAR’s annual Cannes Gala on May 21, the organization announced Tuesday. The black-tie event, held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, aims to raise funds for AIDS research.
“We are thrilled to have Zara Larsson joining us in Cannes this year,” amfAR CEO Kyle Clifford said in a statement. “She is not only an exciting and talented artist, but she is also a longtime supporter of our mission and we could not be more grateful to have her with us.”
Larsson’s hits include “Lush Life,” “Never Forget You,” “Symphony” and “Stateside.” She received a Grammy nomination for the title track of her 2025 album, “Midnight Sun.”
The gala will feature a live auction of luxury goods, unique experiences, and artwork, led by auctioneer Simon de Pury. Carine Roitfeld will curate the evening’s fashion show.
Since its inception in 1993, the amfAR Gala Cannes has become a prominent event during the Cannes Film Festival. Founded by the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor, the gala has raised over $314 million for amfAR’s AIDS research programs, according to the organization.
Last year’s event, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, featured performances by Adam Lambert, Ciara, and Duran Duran, and raised over $17 million. Leonardo DiCaprio secured the winning bid of $425,000 for a mixed media portrait of Marilyn Monroe by Oscar winner Adrien Brody. Attendees included Spike Lee, Colman Domingo, Heidi Klum, Jeff Bezos, and Michelle Rodriguez.
The 31st annual amfAR Gala Cannes drew over 850 guests and raised more than $17 million for AIDS research, according to a report from Deadline. The event took place against the backdrop of the closing days of the Cannes Film Festival.
