High-Stakes Sequels and Franchise Reboots Head to Fall Screens
The fall theatrical calendar kicks off with major intellectual property plays. Per the sources, Zach Cregger’s R-rated IMAX franchise reboot Resident Evil arrives on September 18. This is followed closely on September 27 by the release of Francis Ford Coppola’s self-funded sci-fi epic Megalopolis, a project that took decades and $120 million of the director’s own money to complete, according to the sources.
Later in the season, Venom: The Last Dance on October 25, marking Tom Hardy’s final outing as Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote.
