Youngstown State University broadened its academic offerings with a new Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science, effective Fall 2025. The program, approved September 4, 2025, aims to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the rapidly expanding field of data analytics.
The new degree will prepare students for careers involving the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets-roles increasingly vital across industries like healthcare, finance, and technology. The Data Science B.S.will be housed within the YSU College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
