Vietnam Launches National Training Program for Yoga Instructors
Hanoi, Vietnam – September 26, 2025 – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has released a thorough professional training program designed to standardize and elevate the quality of yoga instruction across Vietnam. The initiative aims to enhance the professional capabilities of yoga educators, strengthen national sports management, and ensure instructors possess the necessary knowledge and skills to meet industry demands.
The program is structured around three core components: theoretical knowledge, practical application, and evaluation of training outcomes.
The theoretical curriculum encompasses seven key areas: national laws and regulations pertaining to yoga and sports; the history and development of yoga; factors influencing yoga technique; yoga training organization and lesson planning; guidelines for yoga competitions; anatomy, hygiene, and basic medical/nutritional knowledge for yoga practitioners; and safety protocols, first aid, and injury prevention in yoga training.
Practical training will focus on four modules: foundational yoga technique practice, yoga training and competition guidelines, practical experiance in organizing yoga events, and yoga training/competition structure alongside first aid methodologies.
Successful completion requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled classes and pass a final examination. The evaluation will be weighted, with the theoretical component accounting for 50 points (passing score of 25) and the practical component also contributing 50 points (passing score of 25).
Certificates will be awarded to qualified candidates by educational management organizations, adhering to the standardized certificate format outlined in ministry of Culture, Sports and tourism Circular 07/2021/TT-BVHTDL regarding sports instructor qualifications.
