Popular Turkish Burger Chain Yesen Burger Files for concordat
Istanbul, Türkiye - Yesen Burger, a well-known local burger brand operating in the Marmara Region, has initiated concordat proceedings due to mounting financial pressures. The Küçükçekmece Commercial court of First Instance has granted the company, officially registered as Enburger Gıda Üretim Pazarlama Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi in the Istanbul Trade Registry Office, a three-month temporary grace period as part of the process.
The court’s decision, reported by Sözcü’s Murat Beyaz, also appointed three concordat commissioners to oversee the restructuring efforts. Creditors have been given a seven-day window, in accordance with Article 288 of the Execution and Bankruptcy Law, to object to the concordat request and submit any relevant documentation concerning the company’s financial standing.
Founded in the early 2000s,Yesen Burger built a strong following with its slogan,”IF YOU EAT IT,YOU WILL UNDERSTAND,” and operated 18 branches throughout the Marmara region, employing approximately 250 people.
While the company had enterprising plans to expand by opening 10 new locations annually, increasing operational costs, particularly high rental expenses and volatile food prices, have significantly impacted its financial health.
Yesen Burger will continue operating during the concordat process and is expected to present a extensive restructuring plan to the court. The outcome of the proceedings will determine the future of the popular Turkish burger chain.
