Yasak Elma: Return Date, Cast & Renewal News
The Turkish television series Yasak Elma (“Forbidden Fruit”) is set to return to screens after a six-season run, with preparations underway to adapt the drama for a modern season, according to reports emerging Monday.
Rights to the series are held by Medyapım, headed by Fatih Aksoy, and screenwriter Melis Civelek, who are collaborating on the revival. Discussions are focused on a potential broadcast on NOW, a Turkish streaming platform, though a final agreement has not been announced.
Initial meetings regarding the reboot have already taken place, with the possibility of featuring Eda Ece, Şevval Sam, Barış Aytaç, and Melisa Doğu reprising their roles as Yıldız, Ender, Caner, and Asuman, respectively. The potential return of these actors hinges on ongoing negotiations, with Eda Ece’s decision being closely watched, according to sources.
Prior to the current plans for a television adaptation, a film version of Yasak Elma was as well considered. The series originally aired for six seasons and garnered significant viewership. Fatih Aksoy met with Eda Ece prior to the Bayram holiday to discuss her potential involvement in the new season.
