WWE NXT to Go Head-to-Head With AEW Blood & Guts on November 4
WWE NXT will move to Wednesday, November 4, 2026, for a head-to-head broadcast against All Elite Wrestling’s Blood & Guts special on TBS, setting up a direct ratings clash, while Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE management instructed the NXT brand to load up the card for the night.
The schedule change occurs because The White House midterm elections take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Ringsidenews.com reported that The World Wrestling Entertainment program is shifting off its standard Tuesday night slot on The CW to avoid widespread preemption across regional television affiliates covering election returns.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer confirmed the November 4 showdown on X, writing to subscribers that NXT received directives to build a stacked lineup for the broadcast. SEScoops.com noted that upcoming scheduling listings from Netflix and The Futon Critic reflect the Wednesday move. The November 4 episode immediately follows NXT Halloween Havoc, a premium live event scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, on The CW, featuring Grayson Waller defending the NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo.

AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts will broadcast live from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, starting at 8:00 pm ET on TBS and simulcast on HBO Max. SEScoops.com reported that AEW has two Blood & Guts matches lined up for the card, with the men’s match official following the return of Steven Borden. WWE NXT will air concurrently at 8:00 pm ET on The CW.
The single-night shift revives the scheduling dynamic of the original Wednesday Night Wars, which ran weekly from October 2019 until NXT moved to Tuesday nights in April 2021. SEScoops.com pointed out a previous precedent from November 6, 2024, when an NXT special titled NXT 2300 aired on a Wednesday due to presidential election preemption and outperformed Dynamite in both total viewership and the key demographic.
In addition to NXT, Ringsidenews.com reported that World Wrestling Entertainment will run multiple streams that evening, with EVOLVE airing on Tubi and Main Event broadcasting on Rumble at 8:00 pm ET. This creates a scenario where the promotion runs three simultaneous programs against AEW’s signature match.
Uncertainty remains regarding the specific matches and angles World Wrestling Entertainment will add to the NXT broadcast following Halloween Havoc to counter the Blood & Guts card.
