WVU Football: Spring Roster Breakdown & Players Not Yet on Campus

West Virginia University head football coach Rich Rodriguez will address the media on March 3rd, initiating the program’s spring practice period and marking the beginning of the second year of his tenure. The Mountaineers’ roster for spring ball is now largely set, though thirteen players are not currently on campus and are expected to join the team later this offseason, according to a team release.

Eleven of the thirteen players who are not yet in Morgantown signed with the program during the early signing period in December. The group includes quarterbacks Wyatt Brown and Max Anderson, running backs Lawrence Autry and SirPaul Cheeks, wide receivers Landon Drumm and Brad Mossor, tight complete Xavier Anderson, offensive tackle Jonas Muya, edge rusher Noah Tishendorf, linebackers Troy McGlothlin and cornerbacks Simaj Hill, Tim Roberson, Vincent Smith, and safety Jayden Ballard.

The current roster features four quarterbacks vying for playing time: Michael Hawkins Jr., a redshirt sophomore; Max Brown, a redshirt senior; Jyron Hughley, a freshman; and Scotty Fox Jr., a sophomore. John Johnson III and Max Anderson round out the quarterback room.

The running back group includes freshman Amari Latimer, senior Cam Cook, junior Martavious Boswell, freshman Chris Talley, and redshirt sophomore Andre Devine. Fullback Kayden Luke, a junior, is as well listed.

A deep wide receiver corps features DJ Epps, a redshirt senior, and Jaden Bray, also a redshirt senior. TaRon Francis, a redshirt freshman, Kedrick Triplett, a redshirt sophomore, Keon Hutchins, a junior, Prince Strachan, a redshirt junior, and freshman Malachi Thompson are also on the roster. Armoni Weaver, a redshirt freshman, John Neider, a redshirt junior, Robert Oliver, a freshman, Cyrus Traugh, a redshirt junior, Greg Wilfred, a freshman, and Charlie Hanafin, a freshman, complete the receiver group.

Tight ends on the spring roster include Josh Sapp, a redshirt senior, Carter Zuliani, a redshirt freshman, Kade Bush, a freshman, Cam Ball, a redshirt senior, Ryan Ward, a junior, and Sam Hamilton, a freshman.

The offensive line is comprised of Raymond Kovalesky, a redshirt sophomore, Nick Krahe, a redshirt junior, Amare Grayson, a junior, Aidan Woods, a freshman, Lamarcus Dillard, a freshman, Josh Aisosa, a redshirt sophomore, Trevor Bigelow, a redshirt freshman, Phillip Bowser, a redshirt freshman, Rhett Morris, a freshman, Malik Agbo, a redshirt senior, Landen Livingston, a redshirt senior, Camden Goforth, a freshman, Devin Vass, a redshirt junior, Cam Griffin, a senior, Andreas Hunter, a redshirt sophomore, Kevin Brown, a freshman, Deshawn Woods, a redshirt senior, Wes King, a redshirt senior, and Carsten Casady, a redshirt junior.
