February 14, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Místico has been named Wrestler of the Year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, marking the seventh time a CMLL wrestler has received the honor. The announcement, made public via Facebook, recognizes achievements throughout the 2025 wrestling calendar.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s annual awards, compiled by Dave Meltzer and his team at F4WOnline.com, also recognized Konosuke Takeshita as Most Outstanding, and the Young Bucks as Tag Team of the Year. Hangman Page was honored for Best on Interviews. CMLL, the promotion where Místico competes, was named Promotion of the Year, while AEW Dynamite earned the title of Best Weekly TV Show.

Kenny Omega’s match against Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty was selected as Match of the Year. The awards, which cover a broad spectrum of professional wrestling, also acknowledged achievements within the United States and Canada. The full list of winners was shared on Facebook by PWMMAClub.

The 2025 awards issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is scheduled for release on February 16, 2026, according to F4WOnline.com. The publication’s January 12, 2026, edition previously recapped Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final match and Wrestle Kingdom 20, alongside a review of the 2025 wrestling business year. Recent issues have also covered events such as WWE’s Royal Rumble and TNA’s No Surrender, as well as Jake Doyle’s successful surgery for a torn biceps.

Other recent coverage from F4WOnline.com includes reports on Elimination Chamber qualifying matches for WWE SmackDown, and the crowning of new champions at TNA No Surrender. Frankie Kazarian has re-signed with TNA, and Mickie James made a return to the promotion, confronting its champions. The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Facebook page, with over 52,000 likes, serves as a hub for news from F4WOnline.com and WrestlingObserver.com.
