WOW 33 Aftermath: What Next for Ander Sánchez and Fighters

Ander Sánchez returns to competition following his bout against Borja García at WOW 33, which took place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Buesa Arena in Vitoria-Gasteiz. While mma.es reported that the card carried the title “Trono del Norte” without a championship belt on the line, Sánchez’s next career move remains unconfirmed.

Heading into the event, Sánchez brought a 3-3 professional record into the cage, contrasting with García’s 7-2 mark, mma.es noted. For Sánchez, testing himself against a seasoned contender like García offered a path to regain momentum in the organization. His previous appearance under the WOW banner dated back to February 2025 in Bilbao, according to GasteizBerri. Whether that return translates to a steady schedule depends entirely on the matchmaking choices ahead.

The Undefeated Prospects and Under-Card Dynamics

Beyond the main event, the card featured several rising contenders facing key career moments. Daniel Richardson stepped in with a 3-0 record to face Willmar Junior Quirama, who brought a 4-0-1 mark featuring a single draw, as detailed in the event records. Rather than breaking an undefeated streak, the competitive clash left room for multiple outcomes without a definitive loss on either side.

In the middleweight division, Arkaitz “Gudari” Ramos met Jefferson Costa in the co-main event in front of local fans, Mundo Deportivo reported. Ramos held a 9-7 record against the Brazilian’s 5-3 mark. While the high-profile slot gave the Basque fighter a featured spot at home, it did not automatically secure a direct path toward a championship opportunity.

Fighters Seek to Halt Skids or Maintain Records

Other fighters on the card worked to shift their trajectories. Yaman “El Diamante” Mjahed entered with a 3-2 record to face Ubay González, holding a 4-3 mark, seeking to halt a two-fight skid that included a loss to Delffy Humer. Humer himself squared off against João Lucas Rocha, carrying an unblemished 3-0 start against the more experienced Brazilian, who stood at 4-2, according to ABC.

The preliminary block started at 17:30, while the main card began at 20:00 peninsular time, broadcast via UFC Fight Pass in Spain. Roberto Ionescu met Francis Silumsadisa in the final main card bout, alongside preliminary pairings featuring Punyahit Likharu against Vincenzo Bussolotti and Jhony Becerra against Kaique Modesto.

What comes next for Ander Sánchez after his appearance at the Buesa Arena remains undefined as the promotion finalizes its upcoming schedule.
