World War 3 Fears Rise: Iran, Ukraine & Global Conflict – The Latest Updates

March 24, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Ukrainian drone defense experts are deploying to Gulf states as Kyiv battles to secure continued Western arms supplies amid escalating conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, officials confirmed Tuesday. The move, part of a broader effort to leverage Ukraine’s hard-won expertise in countering Iranian-made drones, comes as the U.S. And Israel navigate a tense standoff with Iran following a series of retaliatory strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed this week that over 200 Ukrainian specialists have already been dispatched to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with nearly three dozen more slated to follow. “What is happening around Iran today is not a faraway war for us – because of the cooperation between Russia and Iran,” Zelenskyy told the UK Parliament. “And we do not believe we have the right to be indifferent.”

The deployment is a direct response to the proliferation of Shahed-type drones, manufactured in Iran and supplied to Russia for use in Ukraine, and increasingly employed by Iran in attacks targeting Gulf nations. Ukraine has claimed to have downed more than 44,700 of these drones since the start of the full-scale invasion, achieving a success rate approaching 90%, with a goal of 95%.

“Our experts would place interception teams, and set up radars and acoustic coverage,” Zelenskyy offered to British lawmakers, extending the offer of protection to British bases in Cyprus, which were recently targeted by a Shahed drone.

The timing of Ukraine’s assistance coincides with a period of heightened instability in the Middle East. Following a series of escalating exchanges between the U.S., Israel, and Iran in late February, Ukrainian officials have expressed concern that the modern conflict could divert crucial military aid away from Kyiv. Zelenskyy warned that securing the missiles and other weaponry needed to defend Ukrainian airspace could grow more difficult.

Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior advisor to Zelenskyy, suggested that a successful campaign to dismantle the Iranian regime could benefit Ukraine by weakening Russia’s network of international partners. “The dismantling of this entire vertical structure would sharply reduce Putin’s room for maneuver and his access to resources,” Podolyak stated in an interview earlier this month. He specifically highlighted Iran’s role in providing Russia with drone technology, which has become a key component of Moscow’s war effort.

Ukraine’s expertise in drone warfare has been honed through nearly two years of intense conflict. The Yatagan School for Unmanned Aerial Systems, a Ukrainian training facility, has become a focal point for developing and refining counter-drone tactics. The school’s instructors are now sharing their knowledge with Gulf allies, providing training on the operation of anti-air interceptor drones and other defensive technologies.

While Ukraine offers its expertise, it continues its own counteroffensive against Russian forces in the south, reportedly reclaiming approximately 400 square kilometers of territory this year. The dual effort – assisting allies abroad while fighting for its own survival – underscores the complex geopolitical landscape and the interconnectedness of current global conflicts.

The U.S. And Israel launched a war against Iran in late February, according to reports. Donald Trump briefly paused planned military strikes on Iranian power plants following what he described as “very great and productive conversations” about ending the fighting, a claim disputed by Iranian officials. Despite a temporary calming of markets, the fighting continues.
