World of Warcraft: Forever May Add New Classes According to Player Survey
Blizzard Entertainment may be considering the addition of new classes to World of Warcraft: Forever, according to reports from multiple players who claim to have received a survey via the Battle.net launcher within the last week.
While the survey reportedly forbade the sharing of screenshots, several players have confirmed the same list of potential classes. One individual has shared what they claim are extracted text descriptions of the new roles being considered.
Proposed New and Existing Classes
The reported survey includes classes already present in the retail version of World of Warcraft, such as the Monk, Death Knight, and Demon Hunter. However, the list also features several options that would be new to the MMORPG:
- San’layn: Plate-wearing characters described as being basically vampires.
- Warden: A plate-armored class capable of serving as a tank or melee DPS.
- Necromancer: A cloth-wearing mage utilizing death- and shadow-themed abilities.
- Witch: A cloth-wearing support and ranged DPS caster capable of summoning a blood golem and conjuring buffing cauldrons.
- Tinker: A mail-wearing class that can act as a tank, support, or ranged DPS by constructing a mech, dropping healing supplies, and shooting rockets.
- Metalborn/Runesmith: A mail-wearing class that uses runic power to transmute its body into metal.
- Bard: A leather-wearing healer and support class that uses songs to debuff enemies and buff party members.
- Illusionist: A leather-wearing ranged DPS class that conjures mirror images or illusory monsters, such as murlocs, to fight.
Potential Shift in Game Roles
Several of the classes mentioned in the reported survey, including the Bard, Tinker, and Witch, are listed as “support.” This would represent a departure from the current roles available in WoW: Forever and WoW Classic, which do not currently feature a support role.
