Women’s Health Center Mahila Opens in Montpellier, France

March 22, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

A new healthcare center dedicated exclusively to women has opened near Montpellier, France, offering a coordinated range of medical and wellness services from puberty through menopause. Mahila, which means “woman” in Hindi, began welcoming patients in early January, aiming to provide a holistic and integrated approach to women’s health.

The center, located in Lattes, was conceived by Camille Salles, a physiotherapist, who envisioned a multidisciplinary practice where women could receive comprehensive care in a single location. “I wanted it to feel good, welcoming, and not like a medical facility when you walk through the door,” Salles explained, according to reporting in Midi Libre. The design emphasizes a calming atmosphere with carefully chosen décor and soothing colors.

Mahila brings together a team of ten professionals, all women in their thirties, offering expertise in gynecology, physiotherapy specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation, psychology focused on perinatal care, dietetics, osteopathy, sex therapy, and sonography. The team includes physicians, midwives, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians, and osteopaths. Joanna Borras, a general practitioner, focuses on gynecological concerns, while Clothilde Palmieri, a psychologist, specializes in perinatal mental health. Ryme Afane serves as a sonographer and midwife, and Alice Foraison is a sex therapist. Manon Durand is the center’s dietician, and Emilie Jegou is an osteopath.

The center’s structure allows for streamlined patient care. “Everything is on site, it’s efficient. We share patient files with each other, the follow-up is more complete,” Salles told Midi Libre. This collaborative approach aims to address the interconnectedness of women’s health needs.

While the center’s focus is exclusively on women, Salles emphasized that this is not intended to be exclusionary. “It’s just that the specialties brought together here concern only women’s health issues. Everything is geared towards women, for women,” she said.

In addition to clinical services, Mahila offers adapted sports classes, yoga, and Pilates, led by the center’s physiotherapists. The center’s stated mission is to support women “in all their complexity, singularity and evolution,” according to its website, centre-mahila.com. Mahila is located at 179 Traverse de Saint Hubert, 34970 Lattes, and can be reached at 06 13 91 20 34.
