Wizo Reveals Childhood Weight Struggles & Family History

Dina Mohsen Reveals Lifelong Struggle with Weight, Details Childhood Experiences

cairo, Egypt – August 10, 2025 – actress Dina Mohsen, widely known as “Wizo,” recently discussed her decades-long battle with weight during an appearance on journalist Moataz Al-demerdash’s programme, broadcast on Al-Hayat channel.

Wizo recounted challenges dating back to her birth, stating she weighed 7 kilograms (approximately 15.4 pounds) at birth. She also revealed a previously undisclosed medical condition – a congenital hernia – which went untreated during her childhood.She attributed this, combined with a natural predisposition, to her early struggles with food and weight. “My father would say, ‘What is this? Separate her brain from her body!'” Wizo shared, illustrating the family’s concern.

The actress detailed how pregnancy considerably impacted her weight,noting gains of 50-60 kilograms (110-132 pounds) with each pregnancy.She currently weighs between 130-135 kilograms (286-297 pounds), attributing much of this to pregnancy-related weight gain rather than simple overeating. She expressed a desire to lose weight, acknowledging the difficulty of resisting sweets despite her efforts to limit them.

wizo also shared a touching anecdote from her childhood, describing how she would give her younger sisters her bread, often sacrificing her own portion, with her mother’s permission. She recalled playfully requesting her older sister, two years her senior, to share her sandwich, using the affectionate term “princess.”

Wizo recently completed a guest appearance in the Ramadan 2025 drama series “Sayyid Al-Nas,” starring Amr Saad. The series, produced by Synergy Films, was directed by Khaled Youssef and written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir.

Currently, Wizo is involved in multiple upcoming projects, including the film “Captain Jack,” alongside Mohamed Tharwat, directed by Shadi ali. Filming for “captain Jack” took place primarily in Cairo and is slated for release in late 2025 or early 2026.
