Wilmington Woman Arrested After Shooting Outside New Castle Bar

October 6, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Delaware State Police arrested 37-year-old Tiffany Morales of Wilmington early Sunday morning, October 4, 2026, after she allegedly retrieved a handgun from her vehicle and fired multiple shots at a victim outside a New Castle sports bar, according to dsp.delaware.gov.

The Altercation on North Dupont Highway

Troopers responded to the 3800 block of North Dupont Highway at approximately 1:30 a.m. following reports of shots fired outside a local sports bar. Responding officers found spent shell casings on the ground near the building. Victims at the scene identified Morales as the person who fired the weapon.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident began when Morales dropped her purse during a physical altercation with an unrelated individual. The victims picked up the bag and handed it back to Morales. Morales then accused them of stealing it.

After the accusation, Morales walked to her car, retrieved a handgun, pointed it at one of the victims, and fired multiple rounds. Detectives later recovered evidence of the shooting inside her vehicle. No property damage or injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Police Arrest Morales on Multiple Felony Counts

Officers located Morales following the shooting and took her into custody without incident. Authorities transported her to a local hospital for treatment of unrelated, non-life-threatening injuries before processing her criminal charges.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit assumed control of the case. The Justice of the Peace Court arraigned Morales on multiple felony counts, committing her to the Department of Correction on a $23,000 cash bond.

Court records show prosecutors filed the following charges against Morales:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (two counts)

What Remains Unanswered

State police have not released additional details regarding the identity of the unrelated individual involved in the initial physical altercation, nor have they clarified the nature of Morales’ unrelated medical injury treated at the hospital. Authorities have not scheduled a subsequent court appearance date in public dockets.
