The release of the racing title is part of a series of developments involving the Sonic franchise on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware. Reviews have already been published for Sonic X Shadow Generations on the Nintendo Switch 2, indicating the game’s presence on the platform.

Further reports regarding the console’s software library include claims from a leaker stating that a Definitive Edition of Sonic Frontiers is scheduled to arrive on the Switch 2 in June.
