Jennifer Aniston Explains Decision Against Adoption, Desire for Biological Child
Los angeles, CA - Jennifer Aniston has publicly addressed the reasons behind her decision not to pursue adoption, revealing a long-held desire to have a child biologically. The actress, 54, discussed her feelings on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, clarifying that while she’s found peace with not having children, the path to acceptance wasn’t simple.
aniston explained that despite suggestions to adopt, she always envisioned motherhood involving her own genetic connection to a child. “Others say ’but you can adopt,’ but I don’t want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfishly or whatever, that’s the way I wanted it,” she stated, according to People magazine.
the Friends star acknowledged experiencing moments of reflection on what might have been, but expressed relief at reaching a point of closure. “Here I am today. That train has left. I actually feel a little relieved because I can no longer think, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe,'” she told Allure in a December 2022 interview. “I don’t have to think about it anymore.”
Aniston previously underwent fertility treatments, a process she has spoken about on several occasions. She was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and later to Justin Theroux, from 2015 to 2018.
