Wichita Hit-and-Run: Man Arrested in Fatal Crash of Adam Condit | 2026
Wichita, Kansas – A 21-year-old Wichita man is in custody following the death of a pedestrian in a hit-and-run collision that occurred on March 15, 2026. Andrew Eugene Fibert was arrested Friday, March 20, and booked into the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility on a charge of failure to stop at an accident resulting in death, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim has been identified as Adam Wayne Condit, 29, of Wichita. Condit died at the scene after being struck by a pickup truck shortly after midnight in the 5800 block of West Windmill Road, near the Sedgwick County Zoo. Witnesses at the scene provided initial reports and rendered aid before emergency services arrived.
Deputies responded to the scene alongside EMS and the Wichita Fire Department. Despite life-saving efforts, Condit succumbed to his injuries. The pickup truck involved initially left the scene, prompting an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators were able to identify the vehicle involved with assistance from public tips, the Sheriff’s Office stated. Fibert’s arrest followed the identification of the truck.
The case has been submitted to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of formal charges. The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding the investigation, including specifics about the vehicle involved or the circumstances leading to the collision.
