Mrs. Doubtfire, based on the 1993 film, tells the story of an actor who disguises himself as a Scottish nanny to remain in his children’s lives after a divorce. The Bodyguard, adapted from the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, combines romance and suspense as a former Secret Service agent protects a pop superstar from an unknown stalker. The musical features songs including “Queen of the Night,” “So Emotional,” and “I Will Always Love You.”
Shucked, a Tony Award-winning musical comedy, follows a corn-farming community and features music by Grammy Award winners Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. Les Misérables, described as an “epic story” by the American Theatre Guild, will be presented by Music Theatre Wichita.
The American Theatre Guild is the largest not-for-profit touring Broadway presenter in the nation, according to the announcement.
