- Child-care systems and enhanced community safeguarding measures;
- Threat preparedness protocols for floods and multi-hazard environmental emergencies.
This initiative builds upon more than a decade of collaboration between the World Health Organization, national governments, and philanthropic organizations. Dr. Kelly Henning, who leads the public health program at Bloomberg Philanthropies, noted that the framework will save lives while building on global progress, stating, “Bloomberg Philanthropies has worked with governments worldwide to implement proven, effective strategies that reduce drowning deaths.” Since 2014, Bloomberg Philanthropies has partnered with the World Health Organization to support foundational resources guiding global prevention interventions.
