Muhammad Yunus, the leader of Bangladesh’s interim government, announced the launch of an emergency hotline to address the casualties stemming from the Air Force training jet’s crash into a school in Dhaka on July 21, 2025. He stated on X that identified victims would be released to their families, with unidentified bodies undergoing DNA testing.

Yunus appealed to the public to refrain from overcrowding hospitals, ensuring that medical professionals could carry out their work without disruption. He assured that “necessary measures” would be implemented to investigate the cause of the incident and to “ensure all kinds of assistance.”

Authorities have confirmed the formation of an investigation committee to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident has prompted expressions of sympathy from leaders of neighboring nations, including Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
