West Jakarta Construction Costs: IKK Rises to 113.82 in 2025

March 22, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Construction costs in West Jakarta City, part of the DKI Jakarta province, rose to 113.82 points in 2025, according to data released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This represents an increase of 0.41 points from the previous year and a 3.03-point rise over the last five years.

The Construction Cost Index (IKK) serves as a comparative measure, using Surabaya City as a benchmark. A higher IKK indicates proportionally higher building costs. The West Jakarta figure of 113.82 signifies that construction in the area costs 1.138 times more than in Surabaya.

Within DKI Jakarta, West Jakarta’s IKK ranks fourth lowest among the six administrative areas surveyed. East Jakarta City recorded the highest IKK at 109.74 points, while the Thousand Islands Regency had the lowest at 121.64 points. The complete breakdown of IKK scores for DKI Jakarta’s regencies and cities is as follows:

  • East Jakarta City: 109.74 points
  • North Jakarta City: 110.75 points
  • South Jakarta City: 112.28 points
  • West Jakarta City: 113.82 points
  • Central Jakarta City: 119.26 points
  • Thousand Islands Regency: 121.64 points

The BPS data, based on the 2020 census and more recent estimates through mid-2024, provides a snapshot of construction cost variations across the Indonesian archipelago. Indonesia comprises 95 cities with regency-level status, including Jakarta, which functions as both a city and a province. Jakarta, with a population of 10.70 million as of 2024, is the nation’s only megacity and significantly larger than the second-most populous city, Surabaya.
