West Hartford Schools Undergo Deep Cleaning After Norovirus Outbreak

West Hartford Public schools are undergoing a thorough cleaning following a norovirus outbreak at Webster Hill Elementary School. Superintendent Paul Vicinus ordered the deep cleaning of all schools in the district as a precautionary measure to prevent further spread of the virus.

The outbreak at Webster Hill Elementary School was confirmed on January 19, 2026, leading to an increased number of student and staff absences. While the exact number of cases wasn’t promptly available, school officials reported a significant rise in gastrointestinal illness. Town of west Hartford officials are working closely with the school district to monitor the situation.
