SV Werder Bremen has officially terminated the contract of Polish forward Dawid Kownacki ahead of schedule on September 30, 2026. The 29-year-old player spent three largely unsuccessful years with the Bundesliga club, making 22 total appearances without scoring a single goal following his arrival from Fortuna Düsseldorf in the summer of 2023.
Early Exit Following Three Difficult Years in Bremen
The departure brings an end to a challenging chapter for both the player and the club. Kownacki joined the green-and-whites on a free transfer ahead of the 2023/24 season with expectations of bolstering the team’s attacking depth.
