The collaboration aims to elevate the hospital’s cancer care standards and position it as a leading regional center for advanced oncology treatment.
Under the eight-month agreement, Watthanosoth will work closely with Mayo Clinic experts on several key initiatives, including the early detection and staging of breast cancer, as well as guidance and knowledge exchange in precision diagnostics and novel breast cancer treatment approaches. The partnership reflects Watthanosoth’s commitment to enhancing its specialized services and operational capabilities, according to a statement released by the hospital.
Mayo Clinic, a globally recognized leader in tertiary healthcare, brings significant expertise to the collaboration. Watthanosoth Cancer Hospital, with nearly 20 years of experience, currently offers comprehensive cancer care, encompassing screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The hospital utilizes advanced technologies such as EDGE Radiosurgery and an in-house genomics laboratory employing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Watthanosoth Cancer Hospital has achieved a five-year survival rate exceeding 95% for patients with early-stage breast and lung cancers. The hospital emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care, addressing physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being under the “Care Beyond Cure” philosophy. It has too adopted standards from the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) to improve the quality and value of healthcare.
