Warriors Win at Dallas: Moses Moody Injury Concerns
Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody was stretchered off the court during the fourth quarter of his team’s 137-131 overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, suffering what multiple reports described as a potentially serious left knee injury.
The injury occurred on a non-contact play while Moody attempted a dunk. He landed awkwardly and immediately clutched at his left knee, falling to the court. Medical personnel attended to Moody for several minutes before immobilizing his leg and carrying him off on a stretcher.
The Warriors confirmed the injury was to Moody’s left knee, but provided no immediate details regarding the severity. Multiple news outlets reported the injury as “potentially serious,” with the San Francisco Chronicle noting it was a “serious” injury. The New York Times as well characterized the injury as potentially serious.
The game continued for several minutes while Moody received medical attention, with players from both teams visibly concerned. Draymond Green, a Warriors teammate, was seen consoling Moody as he was being stretchered off, according to NBC Sports Bay Area & California.
Despite the loss of Moody, the Warriors were able to secure the win in overtime. The Warriors’ victory was hard-fought, requiring an extra period to determine the outcome.
As of late Tuesday, the Warriors had not released a statement regarding Moody’s prognosis or potential timeline for recovery. No further information was immediately available.
