According to Blizzard announcements detailed by GameSpot, the expansion features more than 30 hours of campaign content across two primary story sections named The Last Days of Lordaeron and Forsaken Kingdom. Players encounter familiar narrative figures such as Sylvanas, Putress, and the Scarlet Crusade, bridging the historical gap between the classic strategy titles and the early years of World of Warcraft.

Patch 3.0 and the Technical Overhaul of Reforged

Alongside the paid expansion, Blizzard deployed the free 3.0 update for all owners of the game. According to coverage from GameSpot, the patch replaces the older Classic HD graphics mode with a new Definitive Edition visual setting. It also raises the maximum selection group limit from 12 units to 24, introduces the Forsaken Paladin as a neutral hero, and updates the underlying interface, music, and lighting engines.

The technical deployment also brings password-protected custom lobbies and new regional servers to the platform. While the updated Reforged client now mandates an active internet connection for online features, a separate classic client remains available for offline and LAN play.
