Vogue x Samsung: How to Discover Real-Time Fashion Trends and Style
Vogue México and Samsung announced a partnership in July 2024 to integrate real-time trend analysis tools into fashion content, according to a press release from the Mexican edition of the publication. The collaboration leverages Samsung’s AI-driven data platforms to track global style movements and translate them into localized content for Vogue’s audience.
The initiative, described as “a fusion of technology and editorial expertise,” includes a dedicated section on Vogue México’s website that updates daily with insights from Samsung’s trend-monitoring algorithms. The algorithms analyze social media activity, retail sales data, and search patterns to identify emerging styles, according to a statement from Samsung’s Latin American division.
“This partnership allows us to provide our readers with immediate access to the most current fashion narratives,” said María Fernanda Rangel, editor-in-chief of Vogue México, in a statement. “Samsung’s technology enables us to bridge the gap between global trends and regional preferences.”
Samsung’s role in the project involves deploying its Galaxy AI tools, which the company has previously used in collaborations with other media outlets. A spokesperson for Samsung Mexico confirmed that the partnership is part of a broader strategy to expand AI applications in creative industries, though no financial terms were disclosed.
Industry observers note that the collaboration reflects a growing trend of fashion publications partnering with tech firms to enhance data-driven storytelling. In 2023, the French edition of Vogue partnered with a Paris-based AI startup to predict seasonal color palettes, while the U.S. edition collaborated with a data analytics firm to track influencer-driven trends.

The project’s success will depend on its ability to balance algorithmic insights with human editorial judgment. “Technology can identify patterns, but it cannot replace the cultural nuance that editors bring,” said Carlos Méndez, a fashion historian at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. “The key will be how effectively the two approaches are integrated.”
Vogue México’s partnership with Samsung is set to launch in October 2024, with a series of virtual events planned to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities. The publication has not yet provided details on how user data will be collected or protected under the collaboration.
