Vishwaksen’s Slasher Thriller #CULT Set for October 30, 2026 Release

More than 300 people find themselves trapped inside an isolated island estate in Goa, surrounded by electric fencing and with a main entrance rigged with RDX explosives. This setup forms the core of #CULT, an upcoming film directed by and starring Vishwaksen, which is slated for a theatrical release on October 30, 2026.

Produced by Sandeep Kakarala under Tarak Cinemas, the project is promoted as India’s first authentic slasher thriller. The narrative centers on participants forced to play a series of deadly games where every decision carries fatal consequences. The feature takes inspiration from disturbing real-life incidents.

Vishwaksen Plays an Aggressive Police Officer in Trailer

The newly unveiled trailer showcases Vishwaksen as DSP Sankalp Nayak, a police officer described as having a strong aversion to drugs and an uncompromising method of dealing with criminals. Earlier promotional material hinted at negative shades for the protagonist, but the full trailer highlights a blend of aggression, attitude, and humor within the dark setting. The character moves through the dangerous enclosure as the fight for survival intensifies.

The ensemble cast features Gayatri Bharadwaj, Tarak Ponnappa, Murali Sharma, Srikanth Iyengar, Karthikeya, Anirudh Bhaskar, EZY, Yagnya Turlapati, Kabeer Bhartiya, Vishak Nair, and Chepuri Vivek. The initial teaser released on February 21, 2026, outlined a premise where a group of friends lands in Goa and gains entry to an exclusive party via Cult Passes, only for the evening to devolve into chaos when the host introduces a deadly game.

Technical Crew Prepares Global Release for October 30

The production relies on a technical team that includes Tharun Bhascker handling dialogues and Ravi Basrur composing the background score. Cinematography is led by Aravind Viswanathan, with production design by Arvind Mule and editing by Ravi Teja Girijala. Stunts are coordinated by Karunakar and Joshua.

It is reported that #CULT is scheduled to hit theaters simultaneously on October 30 in Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese, and Spanish.
