Viktória Mihályvári-Farkas Suffers Dislocated Shoulder and Six-Week Break
Ferencváros 22-year-old swimmer and European champion Viktória Mihályvári-Farkas suffered a dislocated shoulder during a training session, requiring emergency transport by ambulance to the Accident Center, as reported by the club’s website.
Mihályvári-Farkas Suffers Shoulder Dislocation During Training
The injury occurred a week prior in the middle of the training pool when Mihályvári-Farkas experienced the shoulder dislocation mid-stroke. She stopped immediately and began crying, unable to move her arm. Olympic champion Kristóf Rasovszky swam to her aid, towing her to the edge of the pool where their coaches lifted her out of the water. Emergency services arrived at the scene, and an ambulance transported her to the Baleseti Központ, where medical staff performed a manual reduction of the joint following a diagnostic X-ray.
Recounting the event to the official Ferencváros website, Mihályvári-Farkas explained the immediate impact on her competition schedule. She had been scheduled to compete at the World Cup stop in Mexico in early November. Travel to that event is ruled out because her arm remains in a sling, a immobilization requirement that must continue for another week.
Mihályvári-Farkas Aims for January Training Return
Medical staff prescribed a minimum of six weeks of rest before she can resume swimming activities. The recovery trajectory points toward a December resumption of basic conditioning, followed by intensive training starting in January to prepare for the upcoming world championships.

Mihályvári-Farkas transitioned to open-water disciplines after claiming the 400-meter individual medley European title in the pool in 2022. Last year, she secured gold medals at the European Championships in both the team event and the 10-kilometer open-water marathon.
