Vietnam and Mexico Strengthen Coopération via Inter-Party Ties

November 8, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Carrying digital publishing rights and policy texts, a Vietnamese Communist Party delegation concluded a working visit to Mexico on November 7, meeting with the Labor Party of Mexico to deepen bilateral cooperation across education, publishing, and public communication.

Trân Thanh Lâm led the delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Commission for Communication and Education during the November 2 to 7 trip, lecourrier.vn reported. The visit builds upon Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez’s August 2026 visit to Vietnam and the signing of the 2026-2031 cooperation agreement, which Trân Thanh Lâm said gave new momentum to inter-party relations.

During the meetings in Mexico, Trân Thanh Lâm conferred with Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez, secretary-general of the Mexican Labor Party, according to fr.vietnamplus.vn. The Vietnamese official praised the Labor Party’s contributions and Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez’s leading role in developing bilateral solidarity.

The delegation presented Mexican officials with digital editions and publishing rights for the book titled “The aspiration for a powerful Vietnam in the new era.” The volume gathers 46 texts and speeches by Tô Lâm dating from August 2024 onward, issued by the Vietnam News Agency in English and Spanish editions.

Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez praised the publication as a vital reference for Spanish-speaking audiences seeking to understand Vietnam’s strategic trajectory, lecourrier.vn reported. The Mexican official also highlighted Vietnam’s economic growth models tied to social equity under the Doi Moi renovation process.

Beyond political talks, Trân Thanh Lâm participated in the 26th International Conference on Early Childhood Education and Preschool Education. The Vietnamese representative outlined national policies aimed at universal preschool access and sustainable development goals, exploring partnerships with the Child Development Centers network operated by the Mexican Labor Party.

In the state of Nuevo León, the delegation met with Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, Deputy Secretary for Sustainable Tourism Stephan D. Kipper, and Monterrey city secretary César Garza Villarreal. Discussions centered on science, digital transformation, and sustainable tourism under the framework of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The schedule included stops at historical markers of bilateral relations. The delegation toured the Socialist Republic of Vietnam primary school in Iztapalapa, founded in 1975, where students wear uniforms bearing the Vietnamese flag, as noted by lecourrier.vn.

Before departing, delegates visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico City to lay flowers at the monument dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh. The monument originally opened in 2009 and underwent restoration ahead of a May 2026 reinauguration ceremony.
