Vicki Zhao Wei‘s Career Plummets Amidst personal and Financial Turmoil
Jakarta – The celebrated Mandarin star, Vicki Zhao Wei, also known as Vicky Zhao or Zhao wei, has faced a series of notable challenges in recent years. The 49-year-old actress, who built a decades-long career, has seen it abruptly vanish.
Once hailed as the “National Goddess” for her role in “My Fair Princess,” Zhao Wei has been blacklisted by the Chinese government.Her appearances on television and film are now prohibited,and her past career traces have been systematically removed from cyberspace.
Adding to her troubles,her marriage to Huang Youlong has reportedly ended. Zhao Wei confirmed the divorce on her social media late last year.
“I have officially divorced Mr. Huang a few years ago. Our marriage has been legally resolved.All problems, gossip, and speculation about it have nothing to do with me,” she stated.
This announcement came as Zhao Wei became aware of her ex-husband’s substantial debts. She herself faced repercussions and was pursued by victims of a businessman from Singapore.
According to SCMP, Huang youlong owes Wise Choice Ventures Limited approximately $97 million, equivalent to Rp 1.5 trillion. Last year, he was also sued for failing to pay rp 5.8 billion in rent for a luxury home in Hong Kong.

“Courage is not just saying, ‘I’m not afraid,’ but how do you accept your shortcomings and weaknesses,” she wrote.
Zhao Wei has been practicing meditation and regularly updates her followers on her spiritual path. Earlier this month, she shared a quote from spiritual teacher Khenpo Sodargye.
“A skilled doctor can turn plants into cure medicine; similarly, a good practitioner can turn everything into motivation to practice spirituality.”
Last year, Zhao Wei made a pilgrimage to Tibet, where she was observed exploring statues, paintings, and artwork.Despite these public appearances, she has maintained a degree of secrecy regarding her personal life.
Fans continue to express their hopes for her return to the entertainment industry through her Weibo posts, but Zhao Wei has yet to respond, likely aware of the significant challenges posed by the government’s stance.
