Singapore Public Transport Extends Hours for Vesak Day Eve
Singapore’s public transportation system will operate with extended hours on May 11, the eve of Vesak Day, to accommodate late-night commuters.Both SBS Transit (SBST) adn SMRT have announced adjustments to train and bus schedules.
Extended Train Services
Several train lines will run later than usual, providing greater convenience for those celebrating Vesak Day eve.
- North East Line: The last train will depart punggol Coast station at midnight and HarbourFront station at 12:30 a.m.
- downtown Line: The last train will leave Bukit Panjang station at 12:03 a.m. and Expo station at 12:04 a.m.
- Sengkang-Punggol LRT: The last trains will depart Sengkang station at 1:06 a.m. and punggol station at 1:09 a.m.
- North-South and East-West Lines: The last train will depart City Hall station at 12:30 a.m.
- Circle Line: The last train will leave Dhoby Ghaut station at 11:55 p.m. and HarbourFront station at 11:30 p.m.
- Thomson-East Coast Line: The last train will depart Woodlands North station at midnight and Bayshore station at 12:12 a.m.

SBS Transit (SBST) announced the extended hours on May 5, stating that train services on the North East and Downtown lines, and also on the Sengkang and Punggol LRT systems, will be extended by about half an hour.
SMRT released a separate statement on May 6, detailing the extended hours for the North-South, east-West, Circle, and Thomson-East Coast lines.
