Venice Weekend Events: Artisan Show and Autumn Festivals
Venice and its surrounding towns are hosting a broad slate of food fairs, artisan exhibitions, and cultural festivals. VeneziaToday reported that the weekend’s events span high-end crafts at the Arsenale, literary talks across local theaters, and traditional agricultural festivals celebrating local produce.
High Artisan Crafts and Literary Festivals Anchor Venice
The Arsenale of Venice hosts the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano, featuring 163 exhibitors and over one hundred live demonstrations. The exhibition showcases precious textiles, ceramics, mosaics, jewelry, blown glass and Venetian beads, designer furniture and home decor, metalworking, vintage car restoration, and creative recycling of lagoon markers known as briccole. The space also includes projects from the Muve Academy and master artisans from across Italy.
Running concurrently is the Festival delle Idee. Saturday’s events feature Roberto Cacciapaglia at the Arsenale di Venezia and Pablo Trincia at the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre. Sunday’s lineup moves to Dacia Maraini at the Chiostro M9 in Mestre and Fiorella Mannoia at the Teatro Malibran in Venice, offering a schedule of concerts, readings, and author encounters.

Meanwhile, the MUVEC hosts an exhibition dedicated to the body in the works of Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Oskar Kokoschka.
Agricultural Fairs and Traditional Food Festivals Across the Mainland
San Donà hosts the Fiera del Rosario, combining hundreds of stalls featuring antiques, homeware, clothing, and gastronomy alongside a trade fair for commerce, handicrafts, industry, and agriculture. The event includes zero-kilometer products, workshops, ponies, and agricultural machinery, complemented by food stands and a luna park.
Noale runs the Sagra del Rosario alongside the Festa dell’Anatra. The duck festival revives a historical custom where families traditionally served duck during the Sagra del Rosario, offering a dedicated menu at the Taverna dell’Anatra alongside street bands, markets, and children’s activities.

On the island of Sant’Erasmo, the Festa del Mosto features demonstrations of ancient trades and cheese production, alongside local tastings including must ice cream and giant paella. The central ritual remains the grape pressing and must tasting, highlighting the island’s agricultural heritage.
Bibione hosts Bibione On Fire with El Bekér, featuring four outdoor cooking areas dedicated to meat, pesce, finger food, and produce, paired with chef demonstrations, masterclasses, and food trucks. Additional regional events include the Festa del Fungo e dei Sapori Tipici in Cona with mushroom specialties and traditional Veneto dishes, the Sagra di S.Giustina in Campagna Lupia, the Festa del Baccalà in Robegano featuring cod prepared in various traditional styles, and the Sagra del Rosario in Martellago, which concludes with a tribute concert to Francesco Guccini.
