Bart Johnson Claims Vanessa Hudgens Declined Podcast Invitation
Actor Bart Johnson revealed that High school Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens turned down an invitation to appear on his podcast,Talkin’ Shop. Johnson, who played Coach Jack Bolton in the Disney Channel franchise, shared the information while discussing the show’s enduring legacy and potential cast reunions.
Johnson explained that he reached out to Hudgens for a podcast interview,hoping to delve into her experiences during and after High School Musical. However, she declined the invitation. “I asked Vanessa to come on the podcast, and she said no,” johnson stated. “I don’t know why. I just know she said no.” he added that while he respects her decision, he was “a little bummed” by the rejection.
Hudgens rose to prominence as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical, appearing in all three films of the series. Following the franchise, she pursued a diverse acting career, starring in films like Bandslam, Beastly, Sucker Punch, Spring Breakers, Machete Kills, Second Act, and Bad Boys for Life. She has also transitioned into Broadway, appearing in revivals of Gigi and live stagings of Grease and Rent, and starred in the film adaptation of tick, tick…BOOM!. More recently, she won The Masked Singer in 2024 and welcomed her first child with husband Cole Tucker.
Johnson’s podcast, Talkin’ Shop, frequently features interviews with actors and creatives discussing their careers and experiences in the entertainment industry. The revelation of Hudgens’ declined invitation comes as interest in High School Musical remains high, particularly following the success of the High School musical: The Musical: The Series Disney+ spin-off.
