FC Groningen Retains Future Stake in Luciano Valente Transfer, Technical Director Reveals with a Wink
Groningen, Netherlands – September 14, 2025 - FC Groningen will benefit from any future sale of midfielder luciano Valente, who transferred to Feyenoord this summer, technical director Mo allach subtly confirmed today during an appearance on ESPN’s Good morning Eredivisie. After initially deflecting direct questions about a resale percentage, Allach responded to a playful prompt from presenter Fresia Cousiño Arias with a telling wink, later acknowledging such a clause is “quite common” and “no secret.”
The confirmation comes as analysts praise Valente’s rapid adaptation to his new club. ESPN analyst Bram van polen noted, “What I like about Valente is his style. He is running nicely, that sounds strange, but that is nice to look at. In the balls he gives,there is so much feeling.” Van Polen further highlighted Valente’s development, stating, “He is technically good, he has power and also keeps an overview.He is developing so enormously and starts pulling the game of Feyenoord to him. Allach, 51, initially claimed he was no longer involved with Valente’s transfer details, stating, “I don’t think I have the right to talk about him… That’s all for my time, so I have nothing to do with that.” However, after Cousiño Arias’ playful challenge - “If you blink twice, it’s yes” – Allach’s eventual wink confirmed the presence of a resale percentage agreement.
The inclusion of a resale percentage allows FC Groningen to profit should Feyenoord sell Valente to another club in the future, a standard practice in player transfers.
