UW Casper: Seeking Strategic Leader for Wyoming Campus Expansion

The University of Wyoming at Casper is seeking a recent leader to oversee its Central Wyoming operations, signaling a renewed focus on expanding access to higher education in the region. The search, announced this week, aims to fill a critical role responsible for advancing UW’s academic mission beyond its main campus in Laramie.

UW Casper currently offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including bachelor’s degrees in biology, criminal justice, communication, and psychology, as well as options in education and social operate. The Casper campus also provides online certificates and degrees, catering to a diverse student body that includes traditional undergraduates, transfer students, and non-traditional learners.

According to UW Casper’s website, the institution values integrity, honesty, and cooperation, emphasizing respect for individuals and their ideas. The campus is currently preparing for key dates in the academic calendar, including withdrawal deadlines in November 2025 and the conclusion of fall classes in December 2025, followed by finals week and winter commencement on December 12th.

The University of Wyoming, established in 1886 and opening its doors in 1887, is a public land-grant research university. Its location is enshrined in the Wyoming state constitution. The university’s endowment stood at $879.5 million in 2024, and it is classified as an “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High research activity” institution. UW is led by President Ed Seidel and employs over 1,002 full-time academic staff and 1,846 administrative staff, serving a total student population of 10,813 as of fall 2024.
