Usher and Chris Brown Extend R&B Tour With New Dates
Usher and Chris Brown have expanded their joint stadium outing, officially titled The R&B Tour, to a total of 59 dates. According to statements shared by Usher via Instagram Stories, the tour will add a third show in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Miami, alongside additional stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Columbia, South Carolina, as reported by Billboard.
Box Office Economics and Historic Attendance Milestones
The co-headlining trek grossed over $100 million across its first eight venues alone. The production has secured just under about 2 million total seats for the run, tracking at 90% sold according to Live Nation’s vice president of tour marketing, Sasha Rincon-Camacho. The box office strength reflects both artists’ post-pandemic touring power; historical data from Billboard Boxscore indicates that Usher and Brown have collectively grossed $934 million and sold 8.1 million tickets over more than 650 reported shows.
The tour’s physical footprint has already set venue benchmarks, including becoming the first tour to play three consecutive nights at Detroit’s Ford Field and breaking attendance records at Washington, D.C.’s Northwest Stadium.
Production Design and Staging Architecture
Rather than utilizing traditional back-to-back setlists, the three-hour show is structured into nine cinematic acts. According to reviews from The New York Post and The Detroit Free Press, Usher and Brown trade off the stage on a sprawling, diamond-shaped floor setup while performing 50+ songs combined. The production incorporates athletic dance teams, pole dancers, and fire twirlers, alongside rotating high-profile surprise guests such as 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
Ticketing Schedule and Tour Conclusion
Pre-sale tickets for the newly added dates launch via Ticketmaster on Wednesday (Aug. 19) at 10 a.m. local time, with general public sales opening on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. local time, as confirmed by Billboard. Following remaining August performances in Chicago and San Francisco, the marathon tour is scheduled to conclude with a two-night finale at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium on December 11 and 12.
